Tyson Apostol is one of 16 castaways aiming to outwit, outplay, and outlast the rest in Survivor: Tocantins.
The 29-year-old native of Lindon, Utah is no stranger to competition. He used to cycle professionally, touring across the world before returning to his hometown as a bike shop manager. The Brigham Young University dropout is also well-traveled and well-versed in numerous situations, cultures and personalities—apart from his cycling and swimming, he’s also served as a Mormon missionary for two years in the Philippines.
His athleticism and personality, he believes, will get him far into the game—but he isn’t afraid to show off his brash, egotistical side. It’s no secret that he’s willing to do anything to win Survivor and its million dollar prize—bluffing and lying and taking advantage of others’ weaknesses—and it’s no secret, too, that he plans to use his winnings to indulge himself. First up for him: a mean motorcycle.
