Survivor: The Amazon was filmed near the Rio Negro, a tributary located in the heart of the Amazon jungle The series used the privately owned nature reserve of Floresta da Vida and the facilities of the Ariau Amazon Towers.
Terrain: The Amazon is home to the world’s largest lowland tropical Rainforest. The canopy shelters the Earth’s richest and most diverse ecosystem.
Fauna: The area is teeming with jaguars, crocodiles and anaconda and flesh-eating piranhas.
The two original tribes of Survivor: The Amazon were Tambaqui and Jaburu . Eventually the two were merged into the Jacaré tribe.
